Online Dating Mistakes to Avoid

Online Dating Errors to Avoid: Being aggressive, demanding perfection, and telling white lies. From a woman's perspective, there is a big difference between being aggressive or confident and being overly aggressive, overconfident, or just plain sleazy or slimy. Be truthful from the start of a relationship, make your profile interesting, and avoid making false claims. Expect flaws and accept them. Patience is essential. Don't be too aggressive, expect perfection, or put on a false front.

You can do a lot of things right while searching the internet for that special lady...the one of your dreams...your soul-mate...the other half of yourself. Unfortunately, you can also do a lot of things wrong...things that will ensure failure and a broken heart. Being aggressive, demanding perfection, and even telling white lies are all ingredients for success in the "real" world. However, those same characteristics are deadly when it comes to online and offline dating.

From a woman's perspective, there is a big difference between being aggressive or confident and being overly aggressive, overconfident, or just plain sleazy or slimy. If you push too hard for a face-to-face, you will come across as overly aggressive...even frightening. Remember that you are not trying to close a business deal, but rather to keep the relationship moving at a slow but steady pace. Patience is essential.

Nobody is flawless. We are all flawed in some way...and you are no exception. If you expect and demand perfection from a woman, you will always be disappointed. It's one thing to demand perfection in your work. Demanding perfection from a friend, coworker, or a lady you like is not acceptable. It's not going to happen. Expect flaws and simply accept them. Determine which you can live with and which you cannot.

White lies and false fronts will not work. Be truthful from the start of a relationship. Make your profile. Make it interesting, but avoid making false claims. The truth will eventually come out. If you claim to be a millionaire lawyer when in reality you are a $75,000 electrician, you have set yourself up for failure.

Remember not to be too aggressive, to expect perfection, or to put on a false front.
