Men's Online Dating Security

Men should be aware of online dating safety, as perverts, sexual predators, and weirdos come in all sexes, sizes, and ages. They should not be given personal information, and should keep their real names, addresses, phone numbers, and places of employment private. They should also be wary of women who appear to be in financial need, and if they ask for money in any of a dozen different ways, end the relationship immediately. Other warning signs include a desire to marry and feelings of insecurity. If the woman is pushing too hard for a commitment you aren't ready to make, it might be time to leave.

Almost everything you read about online dating safety is geared toward women, but men should also be concerned. Perverts, sexual predators, and weirdos come in all sexes, sizes, and ages...as do liars and cheaters. Men, too, must remain vigilant.

It is common knowledge that strangers should not be given personal information. The reason is as numerous as the number of strangers who want that information. Don't give out personal information if you come across someone who is asking others to do the same. You have no idea what they intend to do with it....and you can bet they intend to do something with it. That "something" will not benefit you. Men must also keep their real names, addresses, phone numbers, and places of employment private. Do not give that information to anyone online unless you are certain they are who they claim to be.

Men, be wary of women who appear to be in financial need. If they ask for money in any of a dozen different ways, end the relationship immediately. They are not looking for love or even friendship; they are seeking financial assistance.

Be wary if a woman gives you her phone number but you can never reach her at that number. If you have to page or text them and then wait for them to call you back, this could be a sign that what they are telling you is not entirely true.

Other warning signs include a desire to marry and feelings of insecurity. If the woman is pushing you too hard for a commitment you aren't ready to make, it might be time to leave.
